Solabia specialises in Biotechnological Actives. Solabia has over 30 years' experience in biotechnology, and manufactures a wide range of biotechnological active ingredients. The range includes oligo- and polysaccharides, and oligopeptides and peptide hydrolysates. These actives have many functions including immediate and long-lasting moisturisation, protection of skin and hair against pollution and other aggressions, promotion of beneficial skin flora to the detriment of non-beneficial flora, and delivery of active ingredients to the skin.

UCIB (Usines Chimiques d'Ivry la Bataille) was founded in 1956 and became a subsidiary of the Solabia Group in 1996. UCIB specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients. UCIB is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
